From Rue Le Corbusier, entrance to student accommodations A programme aiming to encourage social diversity Building on the Grand Place

A building for a public place.

Facing the “Grand Place” conceived by the Bureau des Paysages (Landscapes Bureau), the project deploys a classical stone facade. A higher volume occupies the corner with the Rue Le Corbusier to signify the scale changement between the place and the street. A large awning welcomes the spectators of the Pathé cinema. The “U”-shaped ground plane allows a courtyard garden on the top of the underground cinema, true entrance to housing and to the student residence.
