20 cities

Considering that all of inhabitants of Paris region are entitled to have access to the city and to the metropolis, our proposition gives means to the Greater Paris to create local metropolitan. For that to happen, the scale needs to be changed and the constitution of about twenty cities composing the Paris region must be encouraged.

+20 sqm per accommodation

To halt the metropolitan trend consisting of keeping at bay inhabitants because of quantitatively, qualitatively and economically unsuitable housing to household lifestyle and means, the current real estate retention freezing the territory must be blocked. In addition, our proposal plans to decrease by as much as possible real estate prices by mutating an important number of sites, untouchable until that day, to encourage the density at every scale and to renew types and programmes.

-2°C

If we do not do anything, by 2100 Paris temperature will be the same than Cordoue’s.  In collaboration with the search team of Meteo France, we worked on the hypothesis of a global regeneration of forests and rivers of Paris region combined with an infra-local scenario of renewable surface materials for public spaces and buildings. According to our calculations, it is possible to act upon a two degrees range. This action, simple and cost-effective, contributes to the redefinition of Paris landscape while adding an economic objectives to better leisure conditions. Natural spaces at the border of the urban conglomeration, whether there are agricultural or forests, must become active territories at the service of the city by supplying raw materials, essential to the emergence of a durable metropolis. This action could lead the way for the ten European cities located at the same latitude and subjected to the same climatic challenges.

-30 min of transportation

Diminishing the time and money spent on daily transportation is a matter of urban comfort, decreasing pollution and the energetic bill, as well as social cohesion. We are aware that in the Paris region, the distance workplace/home has become a strong symptom of social segregation. We are considering it not only as a question related to the infrastructure alone, but as an issue of territorial consistency: the modulation of speeds and networks’ order must be taken under consideration together with new job centres and habitat districts.
