The idea is to develop three bits of city in the historical island of Incheon, near Seoul. Instead of building upon rice fields between hillsides and plains, and thus destroying the local agriculture and the ancestral ecosystem, we propose to insert constructions alongside hillsides in order to preserve hills, often mythical to Koreans. A linear city takes place, opening onto surrounding landscapes. Newly created roads become development axis for future districts. The equilibrium between a intentional but controlled urbanisation and maintaining the relevance of existing ecosystems are major issues to tomorrow’s city.
